Morning Has Broken is a traditional Gaelic hymn called "Bunessan" with lyrics written by children's book
author Eleanor Farjeon. It was first published in 1931 and became a well known Christian Hymn.
This Lyrics page, which includes Sheet Music, is here as per some of our viewers request.
We thought that including Lyrics was a great idea! Consequently, we're starting by testing it with some Christian and Spiritual Songs. Let's hope you like it!
If, at the end of the testing period, we realize that including Lyrics was actually an improvement to the site, we'll provide them with many more of our files, wherever possible.
Morning has broken, like the first morning
Blackbird has spoken, like the first bird
Praise for the singing, praise for the morning
Praise for them springing fresh from the Word.
Sweet the rain's new fall, sunlit from heaven
Like the first dewfall, on the first grass
Praise for the sweetness of the wet garden
Sprung in completeness where His feet pass.
Mine is the sunlight, mine is the morning
Born of the one light, Eden saw play
Praise with elation, praise every morning
God's recreation of the new day.
